If you couldn’t tell already, I’m not much a of a blog writer (especially at 4:47am). So Instead of trying to give everyone a half-assed/npr-wannabe type post, I’ll just cut straight to the point haha. Heard this DJ Skeet Skeet remix of “That Your Girl” while listening to DJ Benzi’s SXSW 2011 mixtape. The remix immediately caught my attention and I can’t stop myself from winding back to listen to it. DJ Skeet Skeet is a LA based DJ who I have followed for awhile now and has some of the best pop/electro remixes out there. So check him out!
In the last 48 hours I’ve been getting quite a few questions regarding the new genre of dance music called Moombaton. What is it exactly? How did it originate? I’m excited that people around here are showing enthusiasm for it and happy to answer any questions. However, I just ran by this great article on NPR Music that answers all the Moombaton questions much better than I could. So check it out and spread the word!
It’s be awhile since I’ve heard a big track from Calvin Harris. His new upcoming track is called “Awooga” and will be officially released on March 21, 2011 on Beatport. Take a listen and enjoy the video comprised of footage from Calvin Harris’s Australia Tour.
Dillon Francis is a DJ and producer out of Los Angeles, CA. Unlike all the other producers that reside in LA, his sound and productions are always pushing in directions people have never thought of. His tracks have been released on some of my favorite labels such as Mad Decent, Top Billin, and Plant Music to name a few. Many big name DJs are speculating that 2011 will be Dillon Francis’s breakthrough year and I couldn’t agree more after hearing his moombaton remix of “A Women Like Me” by Willy Joy. Enjoy enjoy enjoy.
Whats up homies. I’m super excited for EDP this next friday, I’m ready to party…and I’M ALSO VERY EXCITED for today…bc it’s my b-day! I decided to post some links to some fine trax I’ve been bumpin lately. Enjoi these B-Day tunes with me!
I don’t even know how to introduce this mega track to all of you. This is going to be THE party track for awhile and yes, it’s a dubstep track. This dupstep duo is called NERO and if you havn’t heard of them, I highly suggest you check out their BBC Radio 1 Essentials Mix. This track in particular–Me&You–was featured in their essentials mix and I have been listening to it on repeat ever since. In my opinion, this track has everything that is needed for a great party track. Great melodies. Great Drums. Great Vocals. This track needs to be heard on a good stereo or headphones to get the full effect. Are you ready?
Hey there everyone. So here’s something to cheer you up if you are bored on a Saturday night (like I am). It’s EDP’s own Killawatts (aka Chris Livingston) watching two girls one cup. I wont go into details what the video he is watching contains (i’m sure you all know what it is anyways) but his reaction to it is PRICELESS. Enjoi
Spinning out of Frankfurt, Germany, this name_not_important is sure to get your ears vibrating with exotic beats and hypnotic bass lines. I stumbled upon n_n_i just this past week and haven’t been able to stop listening to him since. His productions are perfect mixes of mellow beats that switch flawlessly to fast up beat drum chaos. Here is one of his mixes. download and share.
